Because initial backup can take a lot of time to complete (depending on the size of your files), your files could be vulnerable during that time. With this challenge in mind, CrashPlan Central now offers (for an additional fee) the option to seed your backup to get your files in days rather than weeks.
If you lose all your files, it could take a similarly long time to restore them. To speed up the restore process, CrashPlan Central offers the option to ship your data to you, for an additional fee.
